Spring Season Tips
It might be hard to imagine getting ready for spring when blizzards come through and drop a couple feet of snow on you, but it really is the perfect time to do some research on what needs to be done when spring rolls around.
Here are a few tips for when spring rolls around:
Pruning/Trimming - After a long winter season your trees, bushes, and shrubs will be overgrown and in need of taming.
Pre-emergent/Herbicides - As soon as spring hits is the perfect time to vaccinate your lawn against weeds that try to pop up and ruin your lawn.
Open Irrigation Valves - Once the threat of freezing is gone and you need to start watering your lawn again the pipes of your irrigation need to be opened up again.
Fertilizer - In the first few weeks of spring is the best time to fertilize your lawn to kick start it into the growing phase from being at rest all winter.
Weeding - Yes, we said it, the least exciting aspect of owning a garden. Weeds never take a day off, so neither can you. After a winter season there's going to be many new things growing in your garden you don't recognize. Most likely they're weeds, so a good thorough weeding will do your gardens a lot of good.
